BUT WE LOOK TO THE FUTURE

(CNNS, 12/16/98) -- "This is FEMA," said the telephone caller.
"You're busted!"
It was a dark and stormy night. Pondering, weak and weary, over
many a quaint and curious volume, this editor had picked up the
phone.
After hearing that it was FEMA and I was busted, I could only
think: "Never a dull moment."
But then came a bone-chilling laugh from the other end of the
phone: "Hah-hah! Just kidding." And thus did yet another
caller to this news service introduce themselves to me.
But was this latest contact really "just kidding?" Or were they
"connected"? I've met many interesting people these past few
years. I've sometimes wondered: Who are they?
The bottom line is, if they've got a good story, I'll listen.
In a CNNS (Conspiracy Nation News Service) press release dated
12/14/98 ("'December's Seven': 'Samson' Dethroned!") it was
stated that "CNNS looks to the future." This echoes what Helena
Petrovna Blavatsky wrote in 1877:
The mercenaries and parasites of the Press, who prostitute
its more than royal power, and dishonor a noble profession,
will find it easy to mock at things too wonderful for them
to understand; for to them the price of a paragraph is more
than the value of sincerity. From many will come honest
criticism; from many -- cant. But we look to the future.

The desert is not remote in southern tropics,

The desert is squeezed in the tube-train next to you,
The desert is in the heart of your brother. [2]
"I like the desert," says T.E. Lawrence. "It's clean."
When the desert calls, few dare to listen. But how else to get a
story?
Bill Clinton's life may have been saved by the CNNS press release
dated 12/11/98 ("'Heads Up': Bill Clinton Is Finished.") By
stepping into a possible future, did CNNS alter it and thereby
save Bill Clinton's life?
"To satisfy the rational and enlightened mind... you neglect and
belittle the desert." [3]
When the desert calls, few dare to listen. Fewer dare to report.
The desert is all around, like always, during this Holiday
Season. To get a good story means to go out on a limb. From
many will come honest criticism; from many -- cant. But we look
to the future.
