-Caveat Lector-

CLINTON ENDANGERING NATIONAL SECURITY BY "PLAYING POLITICS" WITH
                            PUERTO RICO...
                  by Dot Bibee ([EMAIL PROTECTED])

Last Night Criminal Politics ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) sent to me several
articles by FAX and asked me to break this news to you since it is NOT
being covered by the mainstream press. Because of the "black out of
news" concerning what is REALLY going on, Americans think that Clinton
gave clemency to the FALN prisoners to help Hillary in her campaign.
NOT. In danger is the closure of the U.S. Naval Station Roosevelt
Roads in Puerto Rico (all operations) and the closure of Vieques
Island in Puerto Rico after an "accident" in April 1999 - and
subsequent occupation of the island by protestors whose purpose is to
"close" the naval operations in Puerto Rico. Clinton has given in to
the "protestors" in spite of the fact that Naval officials at the
Pentagon and the Atlantic fleet are putting pressure on Clinton to
allow the Navy and Marine Corp to resume practicing air-to-ground
bombing and naval gunfire at Vieques - which has been in use since
1941. These military commanders are increasingly complaining that the
freeze on training at Vieques is jeopardizing U.S. combat readiness.
Sen. Inhofe will hold SENATE HEARINGS on September 22. The following
is Sen. Inhofe's latest press release.................Dot Bibee

U.S. Senator James M. Inhofe -- Press Release
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 14, 1999

    * INHOFE SAYS U.S. BASE IN PUERTO RICO AT RISK IF VIEQUES TRAINING
IS ENDED: Says Clinton's Outrageous Clemency for Terrorists and
Moves to Halt Training Are Politically Motivated

WASHINGTON - U.S. Sen. James M. Inhofe (R-Okla.) warned today
that Roosevelt Roads Naval
Station in Puerto Rico might be closed if military training on the
island of Vieques is ended. If vital training on Vieques is
terminated, the requirement to maintain Roosevelt Roads Naval Station
is greatly diminished, Inhofe said. Those with political motivations
seeking to oust the Navy from Vieques must understand that there will
be serious consequences and adverse local economic impacts if they
succeed. As chairman of the Readiness Subcommittee, I would be
compelled to explore the
possibility of redistributing the functions performed at Roosevelt
Roads to any number of under-utilized
bases in the United States.
Inhofe spoke on the Senate floor during debate on the resolution
deploring President Clinton's recent
offer of clemency to 16 Puerto Rican terrorists. The resolution was
later passed by a vote of 95-2.
Inhofe said he was concerned that obvious political motivations
were behind both the President's offer
of clemency and the recent efforts to halt the Navy's bombing and
amphibious training at Vieques. He
explained that U.S. military readiness was dependent on the unique
type of training which takes place at
Vieques and said he would hold a Readiness subcommittee hearing on the
issue on Sept. 22.
Inhofe also condemned President Clinton's decision to grant
clemency to terrorists. This outrageous
action only shows the extent to which this President will shirk proper
procedure, sweep aside law
enforcement concerns, and undermine national security, just to court
votes and approval from his favored
political constituencies.

FOLKS. This is serious business. The closure of the Naval base at
Roosevelt Roads is being considered by the Base Closure committee -
since they HAVE requested and have been working on an "environmental
impact" statement for several months. The environmental company that
my son works for has been asked to bid on this procedure. EXPOSURE of
these shennagins is ONE of the things that all of us can do to STOP
these treasonous acts by our government. Do what you can!!!!

Last Message until NEXT Monday - since I will be LEAVING in the
morning for the WND New Media Conference in Los Angeles. Stay
