A: Oswald acted alone. --Quoted from Film Threat magazine I must confess that I have been fascinated with conspiracy theories ever since I was a child and came across a tattered copy of the Warren Commission Report (a superb work of fiction, I might add). While my sixth-grade peers were busy reading the entire Hardy Boys Mystery Series, I was working my way through such mighty tomes as Edward J. Epstein’s Legend: The Secret World of Lee Harvey Oswald and Penn Jones’ three-volume Forgive My Grief. From the Kennedy assassination, I moved on to other related topics such as the Bay of Pigs, CIA acid experiments, Malcolm X, MLK, RFK, Moongate, the Rockefeller dynasty, Watergate, Jonestown and the Space Brothers. What follows is a brief sample of some of the more unusual trivia, quotes and musings that I have collected over the past 20 or so years. Warning: These precious tidbits are guaranteed to alienate friends, co-workers and family members. Bring them up at a boring cocktail party or family get-together and watch the room clear in record time. Do I actually believe that any of these farfetched theories are true? You’re damn right I do! * The United States has been run for 23 years and 324 days by presidents who were not actually elected to office. Look it up! * George Bush was one of the first Americans to volunteer to take a urine test for drugs. However, during the Iran-Contra investigation, Bush refused to take a lie detector test. * U.S. presidents who have been members of the Masonic order include the likes of Washington, Monroe, Jackson, Polk, Buchanan, A. Johnson, Garfield, both Roosevelts, Taft, Harding, Truman, Ford and Reagan. In addition, Benjamin Franklin and nearly every signer of the Declaration of Independence were Masons. * James Riddle "Jimmy" Hoffa, who was last seen on July 30, 1975, outside a Detroit restaurant, is buried near the west end zone in front of section 107 at Giants Stadium. * "I now fully realize that only the powers of the Presidency will reveal the secrets of my brother’s death." --Robert Kennedy, June 3, 1968, two days before he was assassinated * The oldest classified military document in the National Archives dates back to April 15, 1917.
