FBI/INDIAN STANDOFF: FOR REAL AND STILL ONGOING by Dot Bibee ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Tues. 1/18/2000 This "standoff" with the FBI started Sunday around 2:00 p.m. when the FBI seized all records from the Housing Office (to cover their own criminal complicity in millions stolen from the Tribe). Around 100 men from the Oglava Sioux tribe at the Pine Ridge Reservation took over the Tribal Building after banding together with the Elders and AIM. The FBI then immediately surrounded the Tribal building in full riot gear and military equipment. The finance committee has fired 414 people from their jobs (including the tribal policemen). This is the THIRD day under SIEGE and the FBI is still there - with many men surrounding the building. The men inside are UNARMED - not even with pocket knives. The MAINSTREAM media is being denied access to the reservation or to any news EXCEPT the Press Releases from the FBI. The natives on the scene say that these Press Releases are MOSTLY lies. So I refuse to post the news from the mainstream media - because there are those who CREATE their own stories from these LIES - so it doesn't help to post them. The leaders "outside" are trying to get the word out about this siege the best that they can. So until the TRUTH can get out from a "non-mainstream" media investigative journalist - we will have to rely on our own contacts with a few people who are brave enough to put out this information - some of whom are in "other" states....but who have contact with the people in South Dakota.
