I was reading about our current Federal Reserve Chairman, Ben Bernanke, and I came across an amazing quote. Why this admission hasn't been spread to the four corners of the world, I don't know. But it should. In his Speech to the Federal Reserve Board, On Milton Friedman's 90th Birthday, Nov. 8, 2002, http://www.federalreserve.gov/BOARDDOCS/SPEECHES/2002/20021108/ default.htm, he stated: "Let me end my talk by abusing slightly my status as an official representative of the Federal Reserve. I would like to say, regarding the Great Depression, you're right -- WE DID IT. We're very sorry. But we won't do it again."
