News California Headlies Wednesday February 10 6:57 AM ET Marine Gives Up In Anthrax Protest - (SAN DIEGO) -- A Camp Pendleton Marine gives himself up to military authorities in San Diego in a public demonstration against mandatory anthrax vaccinations. Lance Corporal Jason Stark surrendered to authorities at the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar after a 73-day absence. The Marine left his unit after being ordered to take the anthrax vaccine. Some Marines have expressed concerns about possible side effects... such as sterility or cancer. Stark is petitioning the Marine commandant for a full inquiry into the vaccine's safety.
