He was speaking at a function of the Foundation of Education, Science and Technology (Fest) in the city. He added that the field of science in SA was facing a crisis. "The situation is exacerbated by the perceived neutrality of these fields. The common perception is that these fields of inquiry are not related to the political and socio-economic context," Fr Mkhatshwa said. "This is a challenge that any attempt to promoting and understanding culture, science and technology must overcome. One way of promoting the goals of African Renaissance is to make indigenous experiences and knowledge part of parcel of our new curricula and learning materials." --- New maths.
