I was living in Turkey at the time, and I had seen the results of Saddam's attacks on the Kurds. I don't know if American newspapers and America in general gave it a lot of attention, but the Turks certainly did. After that it was easy to believe he could do anything to anyone. You can't imagine how furious I was when I discovered I had been duped. My respect for establishment media tanked, and my attitude has not changed at all.
