-Caveat Lector- I tried writing to black journalists about 5 years ago about the danger of aids and was totally ignored. Put them on the list of conspirators. Most white beuracrats are being/have been squeezed from the civil service(often 3 white being replaced bu 10 blacks---jobs for the palls) so they cant be blamed. The ANC has sat on its backside for 5 years , thinking that HIV is nonsense. What is widely practiced in southern africa (according to lancet) is something called dry sex. Cleaning fluid(handy andy) is inserted into the vagina inorder to dry the vagina and to increase the friction. This leads to minor lacerations which increase the transmission of HIV. The report reflects a change in thinking by demographers. Previous studies concluded that AIDS would not significantly affect global population. It was expected that world population growth would slow due to an international effort to provide better health care and family planning. But the spectacular rise in African mortality rates has been a surprise. "This is new in terms of its effect on world demographic trends," Lester Brown, president of the Washington-based research organization, said in an interview. "People are now talking about child-headed households becoming common (in sub-Saharan Africa)."
