HALBFINGER PASCAGOULA, Miss., Dec. 14 — As a young lawyer making his start in politics in 1967, Trent Lott stunned a racially moderate friend running for governor by campaigning instead for an archsegregationist rival. The next year, a month after the assassination of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Mr. Lott went to work as a top aide to one of the staunchest segregationists in Congress — a powerful Mississippi lawmaker who two journalists say greeted Dr. King's death by grumbling that it would probably bring about passage of a fair housing bill.
In 1972, Mr. Lott was that congressman's hand-picked successor. His first piece of legislation was an anti-busing bill....Interviews with those who knew him early in life, and previously unexamined documents from his pre-Congressional career, show how deeply segregation pervaded Mr. Lott's family and social environment. They show, too, how segregation served Mr. Lott well politically over the years — as an Ole Miss student opposed to integration of his college campus and of his fraternity, as a Congressional aide writing sympathetic letters to a constituent who railed against the "gorilla race," and as a member of Congress himself."

Pentagon Debates Propaganda Push in Allied Nations By THOM SHANKER and ERIC SCHMITT WASHINGTON, Dec. 15 — The Defense Department is considering issuing a secret directive to the American military to conduct covert operations aimed at influencing public opinion and policy makers in friendly and neutral countries, senior Pentagon and administration officials say. Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld has not yet decided on the proposal, which has ignited a fierce battle throughout the Bush administration over whether the military should carry out secret propaganda missions in friendly nations like Germany, where many of the Sept. 11 hijackers congregated, or Pakistan, still considered a haven for Al Qaeda's militants. Such a program, for example, could include efforts to discredit and undermine the influence of mosques and religious schools that have become breeding grounds for Islamic militancy and anti-Americanism across the Middle East, Asia and Europe. It might even include setting up schools with secret American financing to teach a moderate Islamic position laced with sympathetic depictions of how the religion is practiced in America, officials said.

Margie Schoedinger|s lawsuit was filed on December 2nd, 2002. The plaintiff acts as her own legal representative. The suit is currently in the Fort Bend County system in County Civil Court at Law 3. The plaintiff tries to make the defendant pay her 49 million dollars for (reasons of emotional distress, loss of freedom and ability to pursue her own dreams, alienation of affection from her spouse, loss of privacy, being disparaged on the Internet, and loss of her ability to be a Christian writer.|

A Fort Bend County woman files a lawsuit on former Governor and current sitting President George W. Bush. Margie Schoedinger of Missouri City, Texas has filed a lawsuit against George W. Bush in Fort Bend County Court. In her suit she is alleging "race based harassment and individual sex crimes committed against her and her husband." The suit lists numerous offenses and asks for actual damages, punitive damages and judgments against George W. Bush. In her suit, among the many allegations, she has stated, "On or about, October 26, 2000, an attempt was made to abduct Plaintiff (Schoedinger) by three unknown assailants. Because of the actions of these assailants, Sugar Land police officers were dispatched to the scene. In the end, no report was taken. The assailants were treated respectfully and allowed to go free while Plaintiff (Schoedinger) was repeatedly and aggressively questioned. After filing a lawsuit, the Plaintiff's family and past contacts were questioned and harassed." As a result, Plaintiff dismissed Plaintiff's lawsuit. Irrespective of Plaintiff dismissing the lawsuit, the harassment continued." "As a part of their defense, the Sugar Land Police Department conducted a background investigation into Plaintiff’s past activities. In the end, this investigation yielded the following information: Plaintiff had seven dates, (which became seven lovers), had told no lies, committed no crimes, gotten 2 traffic tickets and dated George W. Bush as a minor."
