The Coopership is a lighter-than-air craft filled with helium. Unlike more conventional blimps, however, this craft has both a rigid airframe and a rigid skin made of layers of composite materials and exotic aerogels. Harris told CNI News that a full-sized Coopership would be shaped like an equilateral triangle more than 800 feet on a side, capable of lifting 1000 tons. Harris says he has entered his concept into the competition for the $10 million X-Prize, which will be won by the first person or group not affiliated with the government or military that can safely launch passengers into near-space twice in two weeks with the same vehicle. Harris told CNI News that he is negotiating a partnership with another group that will build a reusable space vehicle that could be piggybacked aloft on his massive Coopership. Harris told CNI News he is aware that large triangular or deltoid craft are reported in various parts of the world. He said he suspects a secret deltoid craft is being flown by Lockheed. He does not, however, rule out the possibility of alien UFOs.
