Gore is attacking the US Constitution By Gerard Jackson TNA News with Commentary Friday 17 November 2000 Although I am not an American I take a keen interest in American national politics. What happens in the White House affects us all, even Australians. But more importantly, what happens to the American Constitution affects liberty everywhere. Gore’s attempt to overturn, with the will help of his media storm troopers, Bush’s victory subverted the Constitution and struck at liberty in every quarter of the globe. Millions who laboured under tyranny, and many millions more who still do, saw a presidential candidate, the vice president no less, try to destroy what had been honestly won through the ballot box. In doing so he revealed a depraved political character and a lust for power that no democracy that values its liberty should ever tolerate. This should have drawn nothing but scorn and contempt from the mainstream media. Instead, most of them have acted as willing accomplices in his attempted coup d’etat. America is no banana republic, at least not yet; she is no Third World dictatorship, at least not yet. What she is, or was, is what Abraham Lincoln wanted her to be — “an example to the world.” And now an unprincipled and venal little man who for eight years loyally and unquestionably served the most corrupt and lawless administration in American history is turning Lincoln’s dream into travesty, violating the rule of law and corrupting the judicial system. It was the likes of Clinton and Gore that Madison had in mind when he wrote of “unworthy candidates [who] practice with success the vicious arts, by which elections are too often carried.” Men with “talents for low intrigue and the little arts of popularity” as Hamilton aptly described them. At the moment there is no Constitutional crisis and probably won’t be. If the Constitution is eventually destroyed it will be because it was slowly poisoned by America’s Borgia class. But there is a crisis and it’s ideological, not constitutional. The radical Democrats have publicly rejected the Constitution, a fact that the American public has yet to grasp, if it ever does. To the Hillary Clintons, the Gores, Daleys, Christophers and all the other would-be usurpers the American Constitution is a misbegotten barrier to 'social progress'. This is what really explains their disgusting actions and their brazen contempt for the law of the land. And of course it explains the shameless response of most of the US media, which nearly all of Australia’s metropolitan media mirrors. One can only hope that rule of law will prevail and that the scorn and derision of the great mass of Americans who value their liberty and respect the rule of law will exile Gore to the margin of American society, eventually turning him into a well-deserved squalid and forgotten footnote in American history. *COPYRIGHT NOTICE** In accordance with Title 17 U.
