Hauer’s jumping ship on the Manhattan Mengele to become a counterterrorism expert for Science Applications International Corp. The multi-billion dollar consulting firm specializes in counterterrorism and has close ties to federal agencies Hauer is also closely associated with. The Times article quotes one-time Hauer colleague and Giuliani appointee Margaret A. Hamburg, who is now assistant secretary for planning and evaluation at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. She gives Hauer and ex-boss Giuliani high ratings for the recent Malathion Marathon in New York City. Tweedle Dee certifying the work of Tweedle Dum. A growing amount of evidence seems to indicate that the perception that New York City had an encephalitis epidemic was manufactured by Federal agencies working with the Giuliani administration, pharmaceutical and chemical companies and a cooperative media. They needed to justify an unprecedented experiment involving massively spraying a chemical known to damage human immune systems on the most geographically concentrated multi-ethnic, multi-racial population on earth. It was the terrorist gas attack Jerry Hauer had repeatedly predicted, only the terrorists turned out to be our own elected officials and civil servants. In this war, even Giuliani was only a bit player following orders. According to the NY Times article, Hauer’s leaving because he’s feeling stressed out. Who wouldn’t feel stressed knowing that evidence is coming to the surface indicating that you had acted with reckless disregard for the health and safety of millions of people, violated state and federal laws, deliberately mislead the public, the media and elected officials into believing the risks of pesticide exposure were minimal and caused long-term damage to public health and the environment? Contrary to Hauer’s assurances that the Malathion being used was extremely “diluted” it was in fact extremely concentrated. The warning label from the actual canisters used describes it as consisting of 96% Malathion. The pilot in charge of the aerial spraying, John Sondergroth, has confirmed that anyone who received any spray directly got hit by 96% Malathion. The label also warns that the product is never to be sprayed on people, should never be used over bodies of water and that a minimum of 12 hours should pass before allowing humans to re-enter a sprayed area all directly contradicting Hauer and Giuliani’s assurances . Hauer’s name is also prominently linked to another incriminating document, The Mayor’s Chem-bio Handbook. This field manual for rescue workers at the scene of chemical and biological attacks describes Malathion, a toxic nerve gas, in great detail and lists extensive precautions for protecting those involved in rescuing Malathion exposure victims. The five by six inch canary yellow ring-bound manual with the names Giuliani, Hauer and Safir prominently displayed on its cover is stored inside every NYC ambulance, firetruck and police precinct. Giuliani found in Hauer an enthusiastic advocate for aerial spraying of chemicals on human populations, apparently a long cherished goal of the Mayor’s. It turns out that Giuliani pal Corporation Counsel Michael D. Hess, is also a big fan of Malathion. Hess has stated that his father was an exterminator and that he himself is an expert on insecticides. According to Hess, Malathion is completely safe, a claim even the product’s manufacturer denies. Although the Center for Disease Control (CDC) was deeply involved in the decision to aerially spray Malathion repeatedly over New York City, the agency has since released a report documenting serious health effects on humans exposed to the chemical and associating it with 123 injuries in Florida. A theory is being circulated by a public health researcher which states that exposure to Malathion and other widely used insecticides is itself a likely cause of mosquitoes becoming infected by the encephalitis virus [see article below]. Based on this theory massive spraying of Malathion is a virtual guarantee of next year being a record one for encephalitis cases, just in time for a new vaccine that’s about to come on the market. While falling temperatures and the Mayor’s abuse of homeless people and art museums has pushed poison gas spraying off the media’s radar screen for the moment, this is one story that will be coming back with a vengeance. Lawsuits, medical reports on Malathion victims and pending investigations continue to build momentum. Resistance to any further spraying and anger about the spraying already done is developing in community boards across the City. Simultaneously, residents of Long Island are complaining about the Federal government’s plan to expand the bio-warfare animal disease lab on Plum Island two miles off Long Island’s coast. In this high security top secret lab West Nile Virus is being studied and experimented with on birds. Newspapers across the nation are carrying stories about birds found in virtually every State which test positive for West Nile virus. West Nile virus epidemics are also being reported in Eastern Europe and other locations. All of this West Nile virus news is happening just in time for the expected government approval of Chimerivax, a West Nile/Japanese Encephalitis vaccine manufactured by Oravax, a pharmaceutical company with direct ties to the U.S. Army biological warfare lab at Ft. Dietrick Maryland. According to Newsday, Oravax V.P Thomas Monath has been working closely with the Giuliani administration since the encephalitis “epidemic” was first reported in September. Monath previously worked for the Army at Ft. Dietrick and before that for the CDC. Due to the Giuliani administration’s refusal to release documents the paper trail that will conclusively establish the Mayor and his appointees’ criminal negligence is still incomplete. Requests by numerous elected officials, the NY State Attorney General’s office and private lawyers to release documents are being blocked by Giuliani aides trying to avoid a political scandal. When the real story of what happened in NYC this past Fall is fully revealed the biggest problem will be overcoming disbelief that our own elected officials could do something this monstrous. However, as Giuliani’s arrest the homeless policy so nicely illustrates, this Mayor’s idea of “helping” people has more in common with euthanasia than with Mother Theresa. "We're going to spend a lot of time removing people from the streets," Giuliani said at the time.” Newsday 11/24/99 Police Target City Homeless / Mayor aims to get them off streets “Thanksgiving Day or not, Mayor Rudolph Giuliani says the homeless will be arrested if they refuse to accept shelter or move along. "Streets are not a place to bed down for the night," he declared, adding, "We're really trying to help people." As Giuliani vowed from his City Hall podium to continue the crackdown on the homeless indefinitely, the Police Department reported that it arrested 56 homeless people between Tuesday night and yesterday morning, mainly for disorderly conduct. Since the crackdown began Friday, a total of 79 homeless people have been arrested. Many of those arrested over the weekend were released within 24 hours. In all of 1998, there were 242 arrests of homeless people, officials said. Further reflecting the intensity of the current campaign, 14 percent of the homeless people approached by police during the 12-hour sweep that ended early yesterday were arrested, compared to an average of 1 percent in 1998.” Newsday 11/25/99 Newsday Giuliani: Homeless Crackdown to Continue From: http://www.chem-tox.com/brevard/encephalitis/index.htm New Evidence Suggests Mosquito Control Pesticides Are Worsening the Encephalitis Problem Understanding Genetics and the Biology of Encephalitis by Richard Pressinger (M.Ed.) http://www.Chem-tox.com A new theory is coming to light which is causing serious concern regarding the use of chemical pesticides for controlling mosquito populations. As scientists learn more about encephalitis, along with the effects of chemical pesticides on human health, we are now able to see connections between the two that suggests pesticide use is actually worsening the encephalitis problem. In early November, I met with University of Florida's new genetics viral/mosquito researcher, Dr. Walter Tabachnic, at the Florida Medical Entomology Lab in Vero Beach, Florida. While discussing the latest information regarding what is known about the encephalitis mosquito, Dr. Tabachnic said something which drew my attention because of other research I had come across on the harmful effects of chemical pesticides. Before I begin, I'd like to make a comment on something said by one of my college professors that has been with me for awhile. In one of our opening class lectures, while I was a graduate student at the College of Public Health at University of South Florida in Tampa, one of our professor's began his comments by stating - "Whenever you begin postulating circumstances related to the causes of illness - make sure it has one important denominator - Biological Plausibility"). What he meant by this is that, whenever we begin making theories on public health issues, we better make sure there is logic and common sense driving the points in our theories. I agree with this view completely and is the reasoning which underlies what you are about to read and why it should be setting off an alarm in anyone concerned about human health. HOW ENCEPHALITIS BEGINS Let me first address a few important points regarding encephalitis and mosquitoes, stated by Dr. Tabachnic: 1) Birds are the original carriers of viral encephalitis. Some birds are apparently more infected with the encephalitis virus (primarily "morning doves" and "crows") 2) Mosquitoes bite infected birds which transfer the virus to the mosquito. 3) After a week or two, the mosquito can then transmit the disease, however, University of Florida researchers discovered that not all mosquitoes get encephalitis, in fact, of the thousands of mosquitoes that do bite an infected bird - only 1 or 2 even develop the disease. Interesting to say the least. The next big question, however, is to find out what was different between the mosquitoes that became infected with encephalitis and the ones that didn't. Dr. Tabachnic said it wasn't deficiencies in mosquito immune systems (although that could be theoretically occurring with the birds), however, there was one other consistent biological finding. ALL OF THE MOSQUITOES WHICH DEVELOPED ENCEPHALITIS WERE FOUND TO HAVE ABNORMALITIES IN STOMACH LINING FUNCTION WHICH ALLOWED THE VIRUS TO MOVE PAST THE LINING AND INTO THE MOSQUITOES CIRCULATION AND INTO THE SALIVARY GLANDS. HEALTHY MOSQUITOES WHICH BITE ENCEPHALITIS INFECTED BIRDS DO NOT CONTRACT THE DISEASE. EVIDENCE FOR GENETIC DAMAGE <PictureIn other words, something is genetically wrong with the mosquitoes since only a very small minority can become infected. Before I go further, I was told by another entomologist at the UF Research Lab, Dr. Richard Baker, that it takes about 2 or 3 direct "droplet" hits from an airplane or spray truck pesticide mist to kill a mosquito. If the mosquito gets hit with only one droplet, which happens to millions of mosquitoes when the pesticides are sprayed, then they can survive. However, as you could imagine, the insect shouldn't be the healthiest at this point, just like if you or I received half the dose necessary to kill us. Since both the pesticides malathion and dibrom have been found to cause genetic damage in tests of living cells, the mosquitoes could very likely be developing some very significant genetic hits due to this high level of sub-lethal pesticide exposure. DAMAGED DNA Here is the key point - When these genetically weakened mosquitoes head out and have their babies, the offspring have a strong likelihood for being genetically inferior in many subtle ways. Researchers found that the pesticide malathion was able to literally cause genes to break-off the DNA molecule - called gene "deletions" (Cancer Research, May, 1996). A quick biology lesson - our chromosomes are comprised of these gene lined DNA molecules. Like all living creatures, the mosquito has genes on his DNA which control everything from how well that mosquito flies to (yes) how well his stomach lining works. Also, the fact that problems appeared with proper stomach function in encephalitis carrying mosquitoes is interesting since gastro-intestinal problems were also found in human offspring from the California spraying of the pesticide malathion (Archives of Toxicology, Vol.42). By the way, Brevard County had been using malathion for mosquito spraying here for many years and only stopped this year and switched to another known (and considered even more toxic) pesticide - "Dibrom" (Naled). So the bottom line is - every time a mosquito spray plane or truck heads out to spray pesticides over the area, they are increasing the amount of genetic damage in the mosquito population, and hence, increasing the number of mosquitoes with genetic flaws which would allow the encephalitis virus to take hold. So the six events which explain the increases being seen in encephalitis include: 1) Mosquito Control sprays pesticides over the area - which causes - 2) More genetically damaged mosquitoes - which causes - 3) More mosquitoes now vulnerable to encephalitis - which causes - 4) More mosquitoes developing encephalitis - which causes 5) More bites on humans by encephalitis mosquitoes - which causes - 6) More humans becoming infected with encephalitis. So while we are given warnings about wearing long sleeved shirts and plenty of bug repellant, there now appears to be one more prevention strategy we can use - Impose an immediate moratorium on pesticide spray operations until at least more reasearch can be completed and concentrate our energy and efforts on effective alternatives. This causes effects similar to those caused by nerve agents...Malathion can be absorbed by ingestion or through the skin. Page # 113. B. Chemical Casualty Treatment 1. Nerve Agents Protect yourself by wearing a mask, gloves and a protective suit until the casualty is decontaminated. Remove casualty from contamination and contamination from casualty. Get the casualty away from the source, such as by moving him upwind or out of a contaminated building. If it is absolutely certain that exposure was to vapor only, remove outer clothing. If there is a possibility of liquid contamination, all clothing must be removed and the casualty must be showered or washed with soap and water, dilute hypochloride or water. Malathion Decontamination consists of moving the patient to fresh air, removing all of his clothing and washing him thoroughly with soap and water. The responder must insure his own safety by donning appropriate protective apparel before handling the patient. Page #119 Malathion The antidotes are atropine and an oxime. The anticonvulsant diazepam should be used if convulsions are present. The initial dose of atropine should be 2 to 4 mg, depending on the severity of the signs and symptoms. The initial dose should be given IM if the casualty is having severe breathing difficulty or is apneic. Once the hypoxic is corrected, 2 mg of atropine should be given intravenously at 2 mg every 5 to 10 minutes until breathing has improved or secretions have lessened. The recommended dose for children is 0.05 mg/kg. What these effects are depends on the route and amount of exposure....Exposure to vapor or aerosol may initially cause topical effects in the eyes (miosis, discomfort, difficulty with vision), nose (rhinorrhea), and moth and airways (salivation, bronchoconstriction, bronchosecretions).
