-Caveat Lector-

Those nuts at RumorMills in Aptos, Ca. ??? The folks working with the
vigilante Ranchers in Arizona? The guy that has the radio show on a AM
station in L.A. that rants about the Mexican invasion?

Query: The story below is a major paranoia-meme that has been circulating
for
about six months, mainly among minds of "right-wing " persuasion. The
essence of the mind control meme is that "Chinese and Cuban soldiers are
shooting at US Border Patrol across the Mexican border."

This seems like a classic war hysteria meme.

Does anyone know more about the origins of this particular mind control
scam?

Opinion Piece - Media Continues to Cover up Major Stories - 1/5/2001

As a writer and columnist, I get email from everyday Americans who are
troubled about everything from the broken election we just experienced to
the
multitude of stories I have written on this website related to the
disturbing
developments on our borders.

The reports of possible Chinese and Cuban soldiers shooting at Border Patrol

agents is finally garnering enough attention that people are beginning to
take
notice.

Several of you emailed me this week with links to Internet message boards
related to these issues and particularly our stories about foreign soldiers
so
close to our sovereign nation.

One of the questions that popped up over and over again is that of
credibility.
One post read, “How do we know if these reports are real? I need more
proof.”

This post was a common one with either the writer completely believing these
reports and our high-level sources or wanting more proof.

My question is: what proof would you like?

That proof may end up being Chinese soldiers knocking on your door one
night and taking your property. Or, it could be a Cuban military squad
coming
to burn your Bible and any other books that might disagree with the
Communist sham.

My point here is not to belittle the opinion of our readers who desire more
proof and some sort of “second opinion”. But I’m not sure what people
would consider a second reliable source.

Does it have to be Dan Rather coming on the CBS Evening News and leading
with “Good evening, is the Red Army preparing to invade the United States
through Mexico?” If you’re waiting for that, I wouldn’t suggest you hold
your
breath.

The problem with covering and reporting on this issue is the mainstream
media
in America refuses to pay attention and will not cover the story. When they
did cover the incident of October 26, when Mexican army members fired on
U.S. agents near Otay Mesa, only small blurbs appeared in local San Diego
newspapers and on television. Fox News Channel, via host Bill O’Reilly,
picked up on it but would not report about sightings of Asian soldiers in
the
same area.

As the election clearly showed, a majority of the media in the United States
in
more about entertainment and pushing the liberal agenda down our throats.
Anyone who was watching during the Bush vs. Gore battle knows just how
bad it has gotten. Objectivity is a word non-existent in today’s mass media
world. Dan Rather, Tom Brokaw, Peter Jennings, Larry King, Wolf Blitzer
and the rest of the con artists continue with their slant today. They don’t
cover the border issue because they don’t feel it’s important. Never mind
the
rest of us who value our great nation and our personal freedom. If they had
it their way, we’d all be waiting in line for bread and readying our May
Day parade.

I would love it if every major news organization were on top of this story.
It would validate everything we have been reporting so far. But the reality
is that will not happen. There may be a brave soul out there that can break
through the liberal slant and get past their editors but I seriously doubt
it.

I am a former print reporter for a major daily newspaper. I have worked in a
newsroom and seen first-hand how it operates. There is no longer any
journalistic integrity that we all learned about in journalism school.

Throughout my childhood, there was nothing I wanted to be more than a
journalist. O.K., maybe there was a time when I wanted to be a fighter pilot
but most of my life I wanted to be a newsman. I was probably the only 12
years old that actually watched “All the President’s Men” or other movies
that
revolved around the world of reporters. It was romantic to me. It still is.

I left print journalism after being edited, censored and flat-out told not
to
write “negative” stories about one of the paper’s biggest advertisers. The
media is a business, always has been. More than ever, it’s the money that
controls the content of our newspapers and newscasts. There’s nothing
objective about it.

I share these stories and views with you to explain why the Big Three and
major newspapers today are not covering one of the biggest stories in the
nation. We have the guts to tell you what’s really happening. Personal
threats, intimidation and character assassination be damned.

There is hope. Some publications like the Washington Times are reporting on
the strange movements of Russian and Chinese forces around the globe.
They’re giving us some good “read between the lines” news. But we need to
let the American people what’s happening and that’s my goal. Report what’s
happening and let them decide.

This whole situation reminds me of a bad science fiction B-movie called
“They
Live.” The movie, starring the famous wrestler “Rowdy” Roddy Piper,
revolves around a group of people who are trying to expose the presence of
aliens on earth. The goal of these invaders is to get us to be complacent
and
blind. Piper and his cohorts design sunglasses that allow humans to see the
aliens for who they are – reptilian type creatures that are projecting a
mind-control beam that renders us blind to reality.

The movie is truly bad but I love it. Not unlike the stiff characters in the
forgettable movie, we’re all being controlled and told what the news is. We
need to take off those sunglasses and take a look at what is really going
on.

To quote my favorite line from the movie, and to sum up what we’re all doing
here at the Jungle: “I’m here to kick ass and chew bubble gum; and I’m all
out
of bubble gum.”

This-n-That:

Hallelujah! The news is loose: Art Bell returns to radio February 5. This is
great news for us fans who appreciated Art’s radio talent before he went off
the air and even more after. With a newborn in my home, his voice will guide
me yet more late nights of bottle feedings and diaper changes. Welcome
back, Art!

Russian Nukes: Listen to Bill Clinton and he’ll tell you the Russians are
our
friends. In fact, with all the aid we’ve sent them, we’d probably be able to
build our own military to the level it should be. Now, our “friendly”
neighbors
across the Bering Straits are moving nuclear missiles into Eastern Europe
for
the first time since the collapse of the former and soon-to-be resurgent
Soviet
Union. “Hello, Mr. and Mrs. America, this is Vladimir Putin with your
wake-up call.”

Dan is Not the Man: Would somebody please get Dan Rather off the air. The
former reporter (Yes, former. Now he’s a puppet for the Dems) continues his
election night assault on President-elect Bush and other Republican leaders.
How can anyone stomach to watch this guy? Obviously the heroin he did in
Vietnam is still floating around in those veins. Nice job CBS.
