"You are my King, O G-d; Command victories for Jacob. Through You we will
push back our adversaries; Through Your name we will trample down those who
rise up against us. For I will not trust in my bow, nor will my sword save
me. But You have saved us from our adversaries, and You have put to shame
those who hate us. In G-d we have boasted all day long, and we will give
thanks to Your name forever." Psalm 44.4-8

:: CEASE-FIRE TO REMAIN: Prime Minister Ariel Sharon convened a long
meeting of his security cabinet Wednesday, at the end of which it was
decided that "Israel will continue its efforts to implement the Tenet
document." The decision was made despite the government's determination
that, according to an official announcement, "the Palestinian Authority has
still not fulfilled its obligations specified in the Tenet document."

Head of the Palestinian preventive security apparatus in Yesha, Jibril
Rajoub, said Sunday that the PA/PLO would not allow illegal armed
"militias" in Yesha. However, he said that the PA/PLO would not arrest
terrorists nor collect weapons that are in the hands of terrorists. [Ed.
note: what is considered an "illegal militia"?]
............................

:: MEANWHILE, THE MURDERS CONTINUE: Danny Yehuda, 35, of Chomesh, was
murdered Monday in a typical drive-by terrorist shooting attack as he was
driving near his home. A passenger suffered moderate wounds in the attack.
Later in the day, Doron Zisserman, 38, was murdered near the entrance to
Einav, after a Palestinian terrorist shot him in the neck.

Another resident of Chomesh, Ilya Krivitz, 62, was murdered Wednesday by
terrorist gunfire. Chomesh, 20 miles east of Netanya, is situated within a
narrow strip only two miles wide, flanked on both sides by territory under
total Arab control. Part of the two-mile strip itself is under PA/PLO
administrative control.

Two IDF soldiers, Staff-Sergeant Avi Izak, 19, of Kfar Saba and
Staff-Sergeant Ofir Kik, 19, of Jerusalem, were murdered Friday afternoon
in a bomb attack near the Gaza community of Dugit. The soldiers were lured
towards a jeep by an Arab woman standing on a roof, signaling the soldiers
for assistance. She indicated the jeep was stuck. As the soldiers
approached, a powerful blast was detonated and sniper fire was directed at
them. The Izzadin el-Kassim faction of the Hamas terror organization
claimed responsibility for the fatal attack.
............................

:: TEL AVIV BOMBING CLAIMS 21ST VICTIM: Yevgenia Dorfman, 16, who was
critically injured in the Tel Aviv bombing attack on June 1, died Tuesday
morning. Dorfman, who sustained severe brain injuries, fought for her life
for over two weeks, undergoing several surgical procedures. One of the 23
wounded who still remain in the hospital is listed in serious condition.

The Israeli General Security Services (GSS) quickly found out who was
involved in this act of terror. At a meeting of the Supreme Security
Committee, Israel presented the PA/PLO delegates with the names of two
Hamas terrorists who had sent the bomber. The Palestinians were asked to
arrest the two immediately - and the Americans supported this demand. What
actually happened? The two men responsible for the terrorist attack were
invited to a meeting at the offices of one of the Palestinian security
services. In a conversation - not an interrogation - with the PA/PLO
security agents, the two admitted their involvement in sending the suicide
bomber to Tel Aviv and preparing him for the attack. And here comes the
interesting part: The two were warned by the Palestinian security people
not to carry out similar activities in the future - and apparently they
have even signed an agreement to that effect! After that chat, they were
released to their homes. At a second meeting of the Supreme Security
Committee, the Palestinians were asked what they had done with the two men
involved in the terrorist act. Their answer was: "They have been warned!"
............................

:: PA/PLO JAMMING AIRPORT SIGNALS: The Palestinian media are causing yet
another headache to Israel. Their signals have been seriously disrupting
the transmissions to and from the control tower at Ben-Gurion International
Airport over the past several days. Officials say that the phenomenon can
endanger the flights. The jamming interfered with communications also
during the emergency landing of a plane at the airport Monday.

:: JOIN US IN ISRAEL - SHOW YOUR SUPPORT! If you have ever wanted to go to
Israel, now is the time! Israel needs to see your support. Israel needs to
know that, as Christians, you support and encourage her. Fellowship Church
[of which Tzemach News Service is a ministry] is sponsoring a trip to
Israel November 4 - 17, 2001. The trip will cover areas in Judea and
Samaria as well as the Galilee. Areas to be visited include Ariel, Hebron,
Kiryat Arba, Megiddo, the Golan Heights, Beit She'an, Qumran and sites in
and around Jerusalem. You will see the Bible come alive. We will meet and
talk with people who live by faith in the land given to them by G-d.

Jeremiah was bold and declared: "If you have run with footmen and they have
tired you out, then how can you compete with horses? If you fall down in a
land of peace, how will you do in the thicket of the Jordan?" [Jeremiah
12.5]. We will not be intimidated, we are not afraid. How can we speak of
faith and then be afraid to trust G-d in His own Land? I urge you brothers
and sisters to fast and pray and see if the L-rd would lead you to come
with us in November. For further information, send an email request to

:: US CONTINUES PRESSURE ON ISRAEL: Prime Minister Ariel Sharon will depart
for the United States on Sunday, where he will meet with American President
George Bush. Despite the continued Palestinian violence, Bush is expected
to pressure Sharon to continue his policy of restraint. In addition, US
Secretary of State Colin Powell, who will visit the Middle East next week,
is expected to press for the implementation of the Mitchell Report -
including negotiations with the PA/PLO and a settlement freeze - even
before a ceasefire is achieved.
............................

:: CONVOYS IN YESHA; SECURITY MEASURES REMOVED: The IDF Central Command
Thursday night ordered residents of Judea and Samaria to travel in convoys
of several vehicles or accompanied by a military security vehicle along
roads likely to come under attack.

The IDF continues retreating from defensive positions set up in Yesha to
protect Jews from terrorist attacks. Thursday, the roadblock and APC at
Adam junction, in Binyamin, was removed. These moves are assumed to be
under governmental orders, as part of the "cease-fire" arrangement
negotiated by Israel, the CIA and the PA/PLO.

Yesha residents are beginning to act as if they have had enough of the
non-stop shooting attacks against them. Some of them blocked the
Kalkilyeh-Shechem road to Arab traffic Thursday morning near Karnei
Shomron, and others set up several similar roadblocks all along the
Jerusalem-Hebron highway. Women in Green leader Nadia Matar told Arutz-7:
"I sense [among the residents of Judea and Samaria] much anger, much more
willingness to go out and do something. We refuse to continue to be sitting
ducks ... I also have complaints against the Yesha Council. They must
organize people to do things, such as establishing new outposts in reaction
to all attacks, even those that do not end with casualties. Doing
something constructive like this would, for one thing, deter people from
thinking about taking violent vengeance against Arabs - something which I
am against, both morally and practically ... What will scare the Arabs is
if they know that every time Arafat gives the green light for an attack
against Jews, he is also giving the OK for another new Jewish neighborhood
in Yesha."
............................

:: GSS: MONK KILLED BY ARAFAT'S MAIN MAN: The head of Fatah in Yesha,
Marwan Barghouti, is personally responsible for the shooting incident on
June 12, in which a Greek monk was killed, the Shin Bet (GSS) security
services stated Wednesday in an official statement. Two members of a Force
17 cell were arrested and confessed to the murder, and to asking Barghouti
for weapons, the Shin Bet said. When US National Security Adviser
Condoleezza Rice asked PA/PLO Planning Minister Nabil Shaath this week
about another obstacle to negotiations - Palestinian reluctance to arrest
Islamic militants - Shaath said mass arrests would violate Palestinian
human rights.

:: DEFENSE UPDATE: Israel has officially confirmed to Lockheed Martin that
it will purchase over 50 more F-16I fighter jets as part of its follow-on
order for the 50 it bought two years ago. The F-16I is considered one of
the most advanced fighter-bombers in the world.

Kuwait's Defence Minister, Sheikh Jaber al-Mubarak al-Sabah, has announced
that the emirate plans to buy up to five Amoun low-level air-defence
systems, enough to equip an air-defence battalion, from Egypt later this year.

The new EU Military Staff was declared formally operational on 11 June,
ready to begin advising the EU Political Security Committee and Military
Committee.

A study group advising US Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld recommends
the Department of Defense create "global joint response forces" that would
train together for early deployment.

Israeli and Turkish air crews engaged in their first joint maneuver with US
pilots over central Turkey Monday, in an alliance that has annoyed Arab
countries and Iran. The mock aerial battles, dubbed Anatolian Eagle, are
aimed at creating a realistic training environment in the light of the
potential threat posed by Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein. The exercise follows
a series of joint naval exercises in the Mediterranean, which saw
participation by the US Navy.
............................

:: SWEDEN'S HYPOCRISY: Sweden has come under attack for its condemnation of
Israel's response to Palestinian rioters - while its own police recently
shot three rock-throwing protestors at an anti-globalization demonstration.
Women in Green wrote to the Swedish Ambassador, "Now that your police have
shot live ammunition at stone-throwing demonstrators in Gothenburg, you
certainly have no right to pass judgment on Israeli police or army, who
come under daily attack from Palestinian so-called "demonstrators" who go
well beyond stones - throwing Molotov cocktails and grenades, as well as
firing semi-automatic weapons. Will your government negotiate under fire
with the demonstrators in Gothenburg as you expect Israel to do with its
terrorist enemy? Shame on you for hypocrisy and cowardice in your continued
support of Arafat!"
............................

:: PA/PLO CONTINUES INCITEMENT: The PA/PLO media continue to incite hatred
against Yesha residents. They accused "settlers" of killing an Arab who in
fact had been killed in a car accident two weeks ago, and most recently
claimed that Jews had kidnapped an Arab boy - when in fact the Yesha
residents were performing an act of kindness by taking the sick boy to a
nearby infirmary.

:: WHO PROFITS FROM WHO? Although the US gives Israel $1.8 billion in
military aid, the bulk of this money must be spent in the US, where it
provides jobs for an estimated 50,000 Americans! Moreover, US military aid
to Israel creates a demand for, and the purchase of, tens of billions of
dollars worth of US weaponry by Saudi Arabia and other Arab states.
Directly and indirectly, Israel has enriched many American corporations.

Furthermore, according to Gen. George Keegan, former chief of US Air Force
Intelligence, while Israel received $18.3 billion in military grants from
the US between 1974-1990, Israeli aid to America was worth between $50-80
billion, specifically, in military intelligence, Soviet weapons systems
captured and transferred to the Pentagon, research and development savings,
and testing Soviet military doctrines.

It should also be recalled that in 1970, at Washington's behest, Israel
prevented a Syrian invasion of Jordan. By protecting Jordan from this
client of the former Soviet Union, Israel thwarted Moscow's ambitions in
the Middle East.

Meanwhile, thousands of Israeli-educated engineers and scientists, who live
and work in the US, have contributed countless billions of dollars to the
American economy!

Although Israel also receives $1.2 billion in economic assistance, this
money does not go into building up Israel's economy. It is used to repay
pre-1974 loans for military hardware. Every cent of this money is being
collected by Washington. As Joseph Sisco, former Assistant Secretary of
State said to Israeli author Shmuel Katz: "I want to assure you, Mr. Katz,
that if we were not getting full value for our money, you would not get a
cent from us."

Finally, consider this fact: Israel's current Gross Domestic Product (GDP)
is $106 billion. Hence the $1.8 billion Israel receives in military aid is
only 1.7% of Israel's GDP, which amounts to only $300 per Israeli!
