So when i was really young worked for a company wth a German Treasurer.....no sense of humor, his daughter had had my job and was fired because she could not do it.....no big important job, but took a brain. So one day he came out in his usal hostile manner and said "what are all those cars doing out there".....in our lot were a lot of cars, but I said "Oh I started a parking lot".....and he did not hink that was funny. He then reported me for having a stray kitten in our mail box....it hurt nobody, but before he took it it wet on his mail. Revenge is sweet..... Only time I saw him smile, he came out smiling and said Look at this....it was a retirement check, and this little old man on the receiving end had gotten it for years. I said what happened, and he said "he finally died"..... Well it was then I realized it was not because he was German that made him so hostile, it was because he was a Treasurer of a big company and thought he should run it. He thought because he was German he was smart, but then he did not know the Irish too well. Years later when I operated a police radio (someone just dumped on my desk for those were Mayberry Days)......my first call, an old man in outskirts of town had murdered a traveling salesman. The guy knocked on the door, the old man answered with a shot gun and killed him.....it was that guy's brother. Boy I thought about that parking lot joke I pulled off and shuddered. Some people have no sense of humor but for when the joke is on someone else. A sense of humor sometimes, is more dangerous than an attack dog. A.
