Hi List,
Just installed cygwin, and tried to use vi. For some reason, which I
hope someone on the list will make abundantly clear to me, all the
keyboard input was focused into the leftmost, topmost character of my
edit screen.
I tried reinstalling vim, uninstalling and going back a version,

Hi Mike,
I don't know how the different version are cross-referenced but uname tells
me I'm running CYGWIN_NT-5.0. And the POSIX Version is set to 199009(which
I think means it does most thread stuff but not all of the POSIX 1003.1c
stuff). Hopefully this in someway helps. BTW, there is
Hi List,
I'm trying to develop a UDP client application which needs to send a request
wait for 10 seconds and if a response isn't received send another request.
Wanting to keep things as simple as possible I thought of using setsockopt

Tom,
There are some really heavy hitters here, ie Randall, Harold, Chris and
other's who've actually written cygwin, I bet they could help if you decide
not to give up.

This is one I can answer, I think. You have to go back to the reinstall
site and start the reinstall. When you get to the point that you specify
things to install scroll down until you see the vim (vi iMproved) package.
Select this package, for some reason it doesn't automatically get installed.
How can I copy a file from a directory to My Documents on a bash command
line? I played with it and can't hack the syntax.
Thanks,
Frank

Hi Harold,
I'm trying to learn and maybe that puts me out of the loop here. But, I'll
ask anyway. Is there a place users, like myself, can go and see a list of
outstanding projects for cygwin? You know, the one's that you authors would
allow us to help on.
Thanks,
Frank

Okay, I'm trying to do some stuff with time so downloaded the gnu time
command from the install site. A couple of other things also got grabbed, I
think they were texinfo and fi I forget. Point being now when I build an
executable it's not executable and chmod won't let me make it executable. I

I'm managing to take a couple of steps a day. One thing I stumbled across

Hi List,
I'm new to cygwin, running xfree86 version. I've attempted to look at the
faq and the

some mis-

Hi List,
My first post. I tried to get the faq and list info and the listbot told me
they weren't available.
I have a couple of questions, hopefully they aren't asked to much.
One: On my installation I didn't get vim. And I'm not finding it out on the
net anywhere. What can I do about this?
