open a bash terminal (in text mode), and inside it I call
rxvt -e bash --login, it starts as it should.
What can be causing this behavior?
P.S.: I'm running NOD32 4.0.424.0 (antivirus + firewall).

In my environment, I could reproduce this across the board because
DISPLAY was defined in my Windows environment. I can't tell if you
have a similar problem but I would recommend looking for these
