I can't use a german keyboard-definition under Win2000. Under NT it did
work.

his morning I cannot reboot my system: ntldr is missing
all the time. I am inclined to think that it must be related
to cygwin. Maybe cygwin plays around with the partitions.
Anyway, how to recover the situation?
Perhaps just a floppy in the drive?

I can't get Xfree to work with a german keyboard. (The problems seems to
sit in front of the keyboard.) As I'm connecting to IBMs AIX, I can't use
the Xkb-Extensions. Xkeycaps generates an off-by-one keyboard (asdf -
sdfg) or an xmodmap-file, where the umlaut-keys still generate the
brackets,
