 This is probably not related to any problems you are seeing.

In 3.4.3 we made a change so that cygwin DLL is stripped by the standard mechanisms in cygport (previously it managed it's own stripping) [1].

It seems that cygport does a more thorough job of this (in particular it removes the (I think useless) COFF symbol table).
