Hi to everyone.
I've the need to run rshd on my system because a program I use needs it.
I installed the inetutils package and run iu-config and cygrunsrv so
that I installed inetd service and started it.
But, when I run 'rsh localhost pwd' I get a Permission denied. I think

Hi everyone.
I'm trying to connect to the internet with lynx through a ISA Server
proxy. I get an error (407) because it cannot authenticate on it. From
the messages on console I think it tries Kerberos, NTLM, Negotiate.
I tried with -pauth 'DOMAIN\USER:PASSWORD'.
Can you please help me?

Hi,
The setup.exe tool for installing and updating cygwin has an
accessibility issue in that it doesn't fully obey custom colour
schemes one may be using under windows.
I have very poor eyesight and as such favour white/yellow text on a
black background. When using setup.exe, it is fine up

You're right. Anyway, even with disable firewall there is the same problem.

An update: I checked with netstat and no one is listening on port 514
(maybe there is an alias?), while inetd listens on some other ports.
Thank you

Hello,
I am trying to compile apt on cygwin, but I get errors during the
./configure stage of the process. The script says that it can't

Then, the solution proposed was to compile Git with NO_MMAP (message

Then, I hope the cygwin Git binary 'll be compiled with NO_MMAP;
otherwise, needing to work on a FAT32 fs, I'll have to recompile Git
manually.
Hello all,
Can we not get this list to add [cygwin] to beginning of the email subject?
All other lists do it i have; just annoying to look at cygwin list
emails in gmail and trying to figure out where it came from without
setting up email filter or clicking the email itself.
Thanks,
Arian

Not all lists do this, and I am personally grateful that cygwin does NOT
do it.

Howdy. It seems strange that on Cygwin, the /var/log/lastlog file is
maintained (at least by openssh -- not sure if other types of logins go
there), yet there's no 'lastlog' command. I understand that openssh uses it
to let you know when your last login was (once you've logged in), but it

Thanks Alex,

Sorry for the chatter.
The problem turned out to be the new McAfee Security Center.
Un-install it the problem goes away. Re-install it the problem comes back.
