Hello CygWin maintainers,
I want to report an observation, which might help address a bug.
This issue has been reported in the past in:
https://cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2014-10/msg00502.html
I recently ran into the same issue:
On AppVeyor [https://ci.appveyor.com/] running Windows Server 2012 R2
I am having two problems when I click the "XWin Server" item in the
Windows "Start Menu"
1.The "Cygwin X/Server" icon appears in the notification area.But if I
right click the notification icon, no menu appears.
2.The "X Applications Menu" (XDG Menu) icon does not appear in the
notification
In Git Bash, running the example on p. 27 of Node.js the Right Way, I see
$ telnet localhost 5432
1 [main] telnet 11488 find_fast_cwd: WARNING: Couldn't compute
FAST_CWD pointer. Please report this problem to
the public mailing list cygwin@cygwin.com

I installed Cygwin yesterday and I am unable to startup GVIM in a
separate window. I verified Xwin is running and I tried a few
different types of DISPLAY;
:0
:0;0
localhost:0.0 (with the XWin server started with -listen inet)
All failed with the following errors:
Vim: Caught deadly signal
