It seems that there are applications like gv-3.5.8-2 that require gs-x11.
If you look at the post-install, gv.sh, at the end, it says:
# Quiet the cygwin mailing lists about 'unknown device x11' mails
cd /bin
ln -sf /usr/X11R6/bin/gs.exe gs-x11
(the comment # Quiet... is in gv.sh!)
Hi,
If I am not mistaken, gs-X11 does everything that gs-no-X11 does, then
why distributing gs-no-X11 at all? A lot problems may arise due to the
presence of two different programs with the same name.
Of course all the programs of the package should go into /bin.
