If not, then I think the problem is actually that you don't have Cygwin in your Windows path so the 'sshd' service can't find cygwin1.dll. Add 'c:\cygwin\bin' to your Windows path. You can accomplish this through the System applet in the Control Panel. Set it for everyone (not just you) as an environment variable. -- Larry Hall http://www.rfk.com RFK Partners, Inc. Phuong Two things stand out from your cygcheck output. The first: DLL version: 1.5.19 My version is 1.5.24 The second thing is more important in this case: No Cygwin services found. Thanks a lot C:\cygwin\bincygrunsrv -S sshd cygrunsrv: Error starting a service: QueryServiceStatus: Win32 error 1062: The service has not been started. According to your cygcheck output, you're running an old version of the software, the installation didn't finish properly, and you haven't installed sshd as a service. All of these will likely cause some problems for you. I would recommend running 'setup.exe' and letting it upgrade your system. Once done, run 'ssh-host-config'. Then try starting the service. Don't forget to run 'ssh-user-config' if you plan to ssh to other machines from your Windows box. -- Larry Hall http://www.rfk.com RFK Partners, Inc. (508) 893-9779 - RFK Office 216 Dalton Rd. Hi I am trying to install the ssh service of cygwin using ssh-host-config but I ran into this problem below. I would recommend re-running 'setup.exe' and just clicking through the pages and let it do its thing. If you get the same results in your cygcheck output, then I'd recommend looking at your setup.log* files for clues. These should be in the directory you ran 'setup.exe' from. -- Larry Hall http://www.rfk.com RFK Partners, Inc. (508) 893-9779 - RFK Office 216 Dalton Rd.
