The package 'd' is now available with the Cygwin distribution. 'd' is an alternative to 'ls', which shows colorized, verbose file information by default. There are several differences between 'd' and 'ls', including:
* fully customizable through d.conf file (see /usr/share/doc/d-1.2.0/d.conf.example for instructions) * option to list directories first (ON by default) * line space optimization * summary line listing number of files and total size * colorization ON by default KNOWN ISSUE: 'd' may not respect your time zone settings, instead showing timestamps in GMT. This is a problem with the upstream code, and I've been working with the author to fix this. I hope that there will be a new version containing a fix to this very soon.
