[RFU] screen

2009-08-25 Thread Andrew Schulman
I have a new release of screen, that supports 256-color terminals. The 256 color support hasn't been well tested yet, so I'm providing this as a test release in order to get reports from users. So, the setup.hint file will need to be updated. Please upload, for 1.5 and 1.7. Thanks, Andrew. #

lftp installation problem fixed

2009-07-23 Thread Andrew Schulman
A recent release of the lftp package came with an incomplete list of package dependencies. As a result, if you recently installed lftp, it may be broken for you because you didn't get all of the packages it needs in order to run. To see if you're affected by this problem, just run lftp. If it

Re: [lftp depency packages not auto-selected]

2009-07-21 Thread Andrew Schulman
Checking the lftp setup.hint, I see that it is missing a dependency on libstdc++6. I can't explain the expat problem. Can anyone duplicate that problem? Hm. 'cygport lftp-3.7.14-1 depends' doesn't include libstdc++6 or libexpat*, and I was relying on that. The problem occurs in cygport's

[RFU] lftp setup.hint

Please upload revised setup.hint files, below, for lftp for Cygwin 1.5 and 1.7. The previous setup.hints were missing some package dependencies. For people whose lftp installations are broken because they didn't get all of the necessary dependencies when they installed lftp the first time,

2009-07-01 Thread Andrew Schulman
For Cygwin 1.7, please upload lftp 3.7.14-1 as the current release, leave 3.7.6-4 as previous, and remove all of the older releases. setup.hint has changed and so also needs to be uploaded. Thanks, Andrew. wget \ http://home.comcast.net/~andrex2/cygwin/lftp/setup.hint \

So, if there's no compelling reason to keep the search case-sensitive, I will change it to case-insensitive. Yes, please.

Re: [HEADSUP] Maintainers, please switch to Cygwin 1.7

2009-02-10 Thread Andrew Schulman
Given that 1.7 is due really soon now (before summer), I'm wondering if not all maintainers should switch to Cygwin 1.7 now and build packages for 1.7 only from now on. The foremost advantage would be that all maintainers would automatically test Cygwin 1.7. The subsequent advantage would
