I'm trying to get Cygwin to install in a 200MHz 96MB, Windows 95b machine.
But it always fails at the end with pop up error boxes declaring that it can't find a
couple of DLLs.
Then lots of, what look like DOS windows, pop up very briefly one after another.

I have just done that but there's not Xfixes.h file in there.

Can you make sure you did a:
'cvs update -d -r XFIXES_BRANCH' in the xc dir? This will make sure that it
is correctly up to date.
Otherwise, there would be scope for problems. Let me know.

I've now tried downloading the very latest Cygwin and its installer (2.340.2.5) today.
This is even worse than

files onto the C:\cyg folder of my Windows 95b machine. About 73MB of
files.

startxwin.bat needs quotes around the entire path to protect
against spaces in the expanded variables for window 9x.
Windows 2000 keeps the quotes in the path string, but seems
to ignore them, so no harm in adding them.
