CygwinX with mesa 6.1

Hi: Is it possible to use Mesa 6.1 for rendering with Cygwin X? I tried replacing the Mesa libraries in /usr/X11R6/lib with version 6.1 but the server still uses Mesa 5.0.2. Is this because X is built using static Mesa libs? Thanks, Bob
