Thanks, cgf Snapshot installation instructions: To install a snapshot: 1) Download the latest cygwin-20020???.dll.bz2 file from http://cygwin.com/snapshots/ . 2) bunzip2 cygwin-20020???.dll.bz2 3) Stop any running cygwin applications (sshd, inetd, bash, apache, etc.). 4) copy c:\cygwin\bin\cygwin1.dll c:\cygwin\bin\cygwin1.dll.saf 5) copy cygwin-2002.dll c:\cygwin\bin\cygwin1.dll Obviously, you have to replace the 'c:\cygwin\bin' with the ms-dos path name of your /bin directory. You also *must* use Windows tools (e.g., copy or GUI drag and drop) to copy the DLL to its new home since you can't easily overwrite a busy DLL. I am having the same problem after installing the new cygwin1-20060626.dll on a Windows Server 2003 system as per your instructions. I am getting the follwoing error message when running: cygrunsrv -S sshd cygrunsrv: Error starting a service: QueryServiceStatus: Win32 error 1062: The service has not been started. The ssh-host-config -y runs fine. I was able to get sshd to run fine on another Windows 2000 box here without having to install the snapshot. Any ideas? Re: can't open fontforge--get error cygxml2-2.dll not found
Yeah, I thought about that. But since the error had to do with a missing Cygwin component and FontForge hadn't even opened, I thought the problem might be with something I missed with Cygwin. That's why I'm asking here. From what I was able to gather from the Cygwin site, the above file is part of the libxml2 package. So I went through the setup.exe process again and made sure I downloaded and installed all the libxml2 packages. The thing is, I'm still getting that error. What can I do? Consult the party from whom you got FontForge? FontForge isn't part of the Cygwin distribution so asking for help with it here isn't really appropriate. -- Larry Hall http://www.rfk.com RFK Partners, Inc. Re: Please try 2002-06-29 snapshot
Hey, thanks! You know, I have no idea what a snapshot is but I'll sure try that. I'm also not so familiar with DOS syntax and all, but I'm pretty sure I can figure that out. ^_^ Naomi From: Christopher Faylor [EMAIL PROTECTED] Reply-To: cygwin-xfree@cygwin.com To: cygwin-xfree@cygwin.com Subject: Re: Please try 2002-06-29 snapshot Date: Wed, 28 Jun 2006 10:55:35 -0400 On Wed, Jun 28, 2006 at 02:23:46PM +, Eric Jamison wrote: Christopher Faylor cygwin at cygwin.com writes: I just refreshed the 2002-06-29 snapshot a couple of minutes ago.
