For what it's worth when I made this back in April

I agree it's nice, but I find it scales down poorly, e.g. to the
quick launch area. Denis, maybe you'd like to enhance the contrast
and tidy the edges up a bit? That'd be cool!

If someone else wants to do this, put some semblance of order to it, and
then lobby to make sure that the winner logo is properly placed
whereever is appropriate, then that's the wonder and joy and power of an
open source project.

As I mentioned before, I'm not going to get involved here.  I'm not
interested in changing the logo but if there is a clear winner then I'll
eventually try to accommodate by changing the logo on the cygwin web site.

Well, not to ruin that statistic or to be a spoil-sport but I prefer the
the current logo.  But I guess I'm just a traditionalist. ;-)

I should say that I don't make this remark to denigrate Denis's efforts.

And assuming this thread takes off (ugh, my mailbox... my poor mailbox! ;-) ),
I'm guessing my view would be in the minority.  Personally, I wouldn't mind
seeing this open up into a run-off of a few (or more) different designs.  I
mean, if we're going to consider a new logo, let's have some options! :-)
