I still don't get it. Of course, there's the old They Eat Up Welfare Money bullshit, but aside from the fact that Whites eat up more welfare (absolute and percentage), why get mad at folks if they take $$$ that are given to them? In the case of black folks, however, this is a population that has not been well served by the US system, despite their disproportionate contributions (Trane, Monk, Bird, Miles anyone?). As for me I grew up in a very tough black neighborhood in NYC, and lost a front tooth to a black fist. (When I was a kid that is. Not a lot of people even here would try something like that with me now.) So I theoretically have the right to hate.
