Okay, I managed to build DT. It is strange but if I delete the build folder and run the build.sh script I get an error as in the attached "cmake_output22.txt" file. Running the build.sh again without deleting the build directory works! and produces the output as in the attached

i wrote some code in a branch once that would move our denoising before black point subtraction (or at least the clamping to 0). the differences to the old code path in terms of result images were disappointing at best. first, the black point thing would only result in very academic differences,

No, technicaly, I've not the answer. But on the links you sent, there are various answers: for some it is a noise problem, others said it is a bayer matrix problem, others said it is the way the data are encoded (positive integer vs signed integers). I've a Canon (EOS 7D), I've never "seen"
