Now getting blank (black) image in both lighttable and darkroom. I can
recover the image by moving along the roll but something wierd is going on.

i think something is wrong lately with hdr construction or something else
on the way in the benchmark script.. your plots look just fine and the flat
noise variances are perfect. i'll push to git master.
