works for me. it controls how much brightness difference is considered an
edge. you should see halos around strong contrast edges disappear if you
lower this value. i.e. the filter will overemphasize contrast if you put a
large number.

I use the LC/detail function fairly often and is very effective but find
that the LC/contrast slider appears to have little or no effect. Is it
by any chance disabled?
