This message is repeated several times during startup - but only on

Pretty certain this is affected by Cinnamon itself, not darktable.
Go preferences/effects and turn OFF 'overlay scroll bars'.
Reboot, and relaunch dt.

in a second attempt I ditched darktablerc (is this still needed?) as
well as data.db and all seems fine.
Off course, all my module settings have gone - this is what I wanted to
avoid.
Is there a tool like diffuse for textfiles which allows me to compare
two versions of a database?

I really like a stable system but dt devs made me curious about their
new features so I updated my Linux Mint from 17 to 18 and dt from 2.0.x
to 2.2.4 yesterday (using Pascal's ppa).
