Thank you All! It is really odd. It is a brand new laptop and I can reproduce the issue consistently. But it does appear to be related to heath. The computer is on a flat surface (table) and nothing blocking vents around. Normal ambient temperature 26 Celsius. I am really puzzled how the

In that same vein, you might turn off the power to your computer, pull off the bottom cover of the computer and use compressed air to blow out any dust accumulation.  I'm always surprised by how much dust accumulates in such a short period of time. Willy

Hey, this might be a problem if your machine gets too hot: The computer shuts down if the core is in danger, happened to me several times. It normally only happens with old computers, or if the cooling does not work. Normally it would not happen if you are just copying files though, only the CPU
