Re: [datameet] Google Earth historical imagery disappeared?

2023-05-02 Thread Aman Bhargava
This is a really bad loss if it has been removed permanently, I hope it
gets fixed soon.

In the meantime, I often use Sentinel Hub to browse historic and current
data. The interface is easy and being able to access multiple sources in
one place is useful. Hopefully you're able to make do till this gets
resolved. https://apps.sentinel-hub.com/eo-browser/

Re: [datameet] requesting data for gps coordinates of landfills in India

2023-02-24 Thread Aman Bhargava
One way you could start is querying landfills on OpenStreetMap. Here's a
query you can run on Overpass Turbo , zoom to
India level.

[out:json][timeout:25];
// gather results
(
  // query part for: “landuse=landfill”
  node["landuse"="landfill"]({{bbox}});
  way["landuse"="landfill"]({{bbox}});
  relation["landuse"="landfill"]({{bbox}});
);
// print results
out body;
>;
out skel qt;

It gives me these results

.
Probably incomplete, but something to go on I suppose.

[datameet] Statewise expenditure on diseases

2022-11-12 Thread Aman Bhargava
Hi all,
For a story I am working on, I require some data on state-wise spending on
various diseases/health programs. Like below:
[image: spending.png]
I found this in this report:
https://www.cehat.org/cehat/uploads/files/fdcp%281%29.pdf (page 28)

I've not navigated government budget documents before. Where can I find
such data? any help would be appreciated.

[datameet] Re: Image storage, browsing and retrieval

2022-11-07 Thread Aman Bhargava
Hi!
I've been using Cloudinary for my image storage. It has a decent free-tier
and well documented APIs and SDKs. In my workflow, I upload using a Flask
form and fetch it via the API. It has been the most hassle-free solution
I've found.
https://cloudinary.com/documentation

>From what I can see, it has options to add custom metadata too
https://cloudinary.com/documentation/dam_manage_individual_assets#metadata_tab

Once you have the metadata in, it should be easy to add in filtering logic
when you're fetching it.
