In Karnataka, we have revenue administration and which are taken. for all
the references'
District: looked after and headed by Deputy Commissioner
Sub-Dsitrict: which combines two or more taluks and is headed by Assistant
Commissioner
Taluks: which are Headed by Tahasildar
Hobli: this is the unit where number of villages and gram panchayats are
put together, at this level generally we have Grade-II tahasildar and here
we also have NAADA Kacheri (means local office of revenue department)
Gram Panchayats: here one or more than one villages constitute one gram
panchayat depending upon the population and area
Villages: these are the smallest unit of local revenue units.

could someone tell me where i will get the canal network shapefiles of KRS 
dam (mysore, karnataka) especially the left bank canal which is also called 
as Vishveshwaraya Canal, any help in this regard will help me a lot for my 
research.
