Hello Datameet members,

My name is Rohini and I am a member of The Bachchao Project collective.

We have a licensed dataset of the permissions required by mobile phone
safety apps:
http://thebachchaoproject.org/evaluating-safety-buttons-on-mobile-devices.

The data was collected in early 2017 and has not been updated since. Most
of the apps in the set are either run or endorsed by law enforcement
departments in India as "women's safety apps". The rest are the most
popular personal safety apps in India and abroad. (E.g: Circle of 6). This
dataset was created as part of a pilot project on the efficacy and privacy
concerns of mobile-phone safety applications in India. However, the project
never took off, so we couldn't move to the phase of analysing it and
writing our findings.

If you would like to make use of this dataset independently or while
collaborating with us, please email me off this list.

For context, here is an article I wrote about safety apps:
https://www.genderit.org/feminist-talk/womens-safety-there-app

Thanks and regards,
Rohini
