Because it doesn't make a lot of sense. GMT+6 doesn't allow for daylight
savings changes and any other historic changes. it requires your users
to come to the site twice a year to adjust their time zone.

the code uses as the "guts" for the timezones select. The change seems to
be working ok, but still keeping my fingers crossed...

My users select a timezone from a list. I do not think that +0600 will be
as clear as Etc/GMT+6, so it looks like I am going to have to do a
workaround for this. ;-(
