Hi! Can you try to build DBD::MariaDB driver? https://metacpan.org/pod/DBD::MariaDB It is a fork of DBD::mysql, compatible with both MySQL and MariaDB servers/clients. I tried to fix in DBD::MariaDB problems with specifying paths and detection of include files and libraries. So maybe this can help you.
