That's correct. In debian mysql-5.1 is on experimental, not on unstable.
There are still too many bugs in 5.1. I wouldn't trust my data to it
just yet.

I have some performance issues on 5.1 when it comes to sorting and using
the indexes. Also had some queries just getting stuck processing. Stick
with 5.0.x for production use for a while.
I think 5.1.x and 6.x will start working better in the next couple

I've been using 5.1x on some tests and it's slower, true :(
It's a big difference in speed, at least I notice that.
