non-PIC objects in libglut.so built on alpha

tags 248091 -fixed thanks alpha porters, please could someone investigate why libglut.so does contain non-PIC objects? The build log [1] shows the object files beeing built with -fPIC, but pike7.4's build log [2] thinks otherwise. [1]
