ON my multia it started happening after I was trying to install sarge (with a 2.4.27-3 kernel) by debootstrap on my internal drive from etch with a 2.6.18-4 kernel installed on my external drive. It started after trying to boot the new sarge install, which fails, but now continues to do the

So is there any way to fix that? I just rebooted my new etch install and it's still doing the same thing. Tried a previous suggestion of set auto_action restart but that didn't help -- also tried setting that to boot and halt, all still gives the same screen garbage and requires power cycle.
