I use Windows in the same computer, and I have installed JEE, netbeans 5.5, postgresql 8.2 and using these every day and nothing extrange happend. Only with Etch. In fact, I installed Knoppix 5.1 and everything goes perfect. Pablo Rafael López Martínez

if you're in doubt, cat /proc/cpuinfo what else do you need ? In the first stanzas, it says for example sth. like model name : AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ and i only can imagine intel is mentioning if it's 64 bit too. You can do it from the installer CD shell (read the help
