More like 3.99Gb. The 2GB limit is the user/kernel split in linux. It

Hi All,
Thank You for your answers.

as a server, most of your standard software is 64bit friendly
and 64bit is by no means new ground for the linux kernel.
for example, you shouldnt see any 64bit specific issues

Dear All,
I would like to get more information about AMD64 port of debain sarge.
The stability and reliability is very important for me. For this time

If all you have a need for is to access more than 4 GB of RAM, then just

About ram, with:
amd64 debian testing
linux-image-2.6.15-1-amd64-k8-smp
at the moment 2GB ram
when, in few days, it will be upgraded to 8GB ram, is that kernel OK? If not,
is any suitable one available from debian repositories, or should I
recompile the kernel and which CONFIG?
Thank you
