As a result of this change, apache2 failed with # invoke-rc.d apache2 start Starting web server: Apache2Syntax error on line 1 of /etc/apache2/conf.d/RCS/subversion,v: Invalid command 'head', perhaps mis-spelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration invoke-rc.d: initscript apache2, action "start" failed. Because I don't have to have an RCS subdirectory, I am making this wishlist. If the reason for the original change was overwhelming, you can just close this or mark it wontfix. I did this to solve the problem: Include /etc/apache2/conf.d/[a-z][^.#]* [a-z0-9] might have been wiser. It would also be good to exclude editor temp files, maybe Include /etc/apache2/conf.d/[a-z0-9][^.#]*[^#~] That will also exclude file names with only one character, which might or might not be a good thing. While I'm wishing, in a more upstream vein, I wish Include did not recurse directories, or at least had that as an option. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (600, 'testing'), (50, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.4.26advncd Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 Versions of packages apache2-common depends on: ii debconf 1.4.30.2 Debian configuration management sy ii debianutils 2.8.4 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii libapr0 2.0.50-11 The Apache Portable Runtime ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libdb4.2 4.2.52-17 Berkeley v4.2 Database Libraries [ ii libexpat1 1.95.6-8 XML parsing C library - runtime li ii libldap2 2.1.30-3 OpenLDAP libraries ii libmagic1 4.09-1 File type determination library us ii libssl0.9.7 0.9.7d-4 SSL shared libraries ii mime-support 3.28-1 MIME files 'mime.types' & 'mailcap ii net-tools 1.60-10 The NET-3 networking toolkit ii openssl 0.9.7d-4 Secure Socket Layer (SSL) binary a ii ssl-cert 1.0-8 Simple debconf wrapper for openssl ii zlib1g 1:1.2.1.1-5 compression library - runtime -- no debconf information --------------------------------------- Received: (at 269290-done) by bugs.debian.org; 11 Dec 2004 22:18:30 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Dec 11 14:18:30 2004 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from amnesiac.heapspace.net [195.54.228.42] by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1CdFZO-0003qQ-00; Sat, 11 Dec 2004 14:18:30 -0800 Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by amnesiac.heapspace.net (Postfix) with ESMTP id 357B657D1 for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Sat, 11 Dec 2004 22:18:22 +0000 (GMT) Received: from amnesiac.heapspace.net ([127.0.0.1]) by localhost (amnesiac.heapspace.net [127.0.0.1]) (amavisd-new, port 10024) with LMTP id 14112-01-8 for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Sat, 11 Dec 2004 22:18:21 +0000 (GMT) Received: from localhost.localdomain (unknown [213.151.107.243]) by amnesiac.heapspace.net (Postfix) with ESMTP id AFE8557D0 for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Sat, 11 Dec 2004 22:18:21 +0000 (GMT) Received: by localhost.localdomain (Postfix, from userid 1000) id 715444F560; Sat, 11 Dec 2004 23:18:24 +0100 (CET) Date: Sat, 11 Dec 2004 23:18:24 +0100 From: Thom May <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: fixed in testing now Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-Disposition: inline X-Operating-System: Linux/2.6.9-1-686 (i686) User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.6+20040907i X-Virus-Scanned: by amavisd-new at heapspace.net Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-3.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00 autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 X-Spam-Level: This bug is gone in testing, so we're just groovy. -T
