Bug confirmed on unstable with Apache already installed and being upgraded on the PA-Risc platform. Workaround also works. Hopefully apache 1.3.34-4 will make it's way to the repositories soon.

Err, it's already there, on all architectures. Perhaps you have a stale
mirror?
I have exactly the same error and trace output as Toni mentioned. This
is a Sid machine, and has never had Apache installed on it before.

I encounter the same Bug but earlier in the apache installation
process : Just after the selection of the apache mods.
I'm using apache (1.3.34-2) and the exit status is 10.
