I seem to be experiencing a similar issue with apache2 2.2.9-10+lenny4, even
though it does not crash the system the memory exhaustion causes load average
to skyrocket pretty high (over 100 sometimes)
Weird thing is, it happens for no reason, with a reasonable amount of child
processes (less than 40), renders the whole system pretty unusable for a while
(reaally slow) then gets back to normal maybe one hour later, but no
oomkill is to be reported in the kern.log :|
