I haven't tested 2.6.32-1 yet but I don't see why it shouldn't work

should fix this issue. Now I just need to find out why this patch has
never made it into upstream.

I can reproduce the problem Al reported on my NSLU2, and I filed a
serious bug on APEX to get this fixed.

Al: what does "cat /proc/mtd" say? Maybe it's a very old installation
without APEX? But, no, that cannot be either because flash-apex
checks for the "Loader" partition (i.e. APEX).
